Updated Flight Information:
Updated on 20 July 2011:
The trip was originally planned around scheduled British Airways flights to Tunis. However, the return flight on 20 November is no longer available. If you haven’t booked your flight yet, there are 3 different options for flying to Tunisia.
Option 1: Most people have chosen to spend an extra night in Djerba and return on 21 November. These flights are still quite inexpensive, and if you haven’t booked yet I advise you to book soon before the price goes up. Djerba is a popular Mediterranean Beach resort, and I highly recommend the extra day in the sun.
Option 2: If you choose to fly Tunisair, you will need to arrive a day early and spend an extra day in Tunis. Tunisair flies directly from Heathrow to Tunis several times a week, and you can book directly on the Tunisair website www.tunisair.com. Please note that this website can be a bit frustrating.
Option 3. For the more adventurous, Tunisair has direct flights from Marseilles to both Tunis and Djerba. It is possible to book a flight from Marseilles to Tunis on the 14th, and to return from Djerba to Marseilles at the end of the trip on the 20th. With this combination there is no need for an internal flight back to Tunis at the end of the trip. You will need to book a separate flight from London to Marseilles. There are many connections to Marseilles, including British Airways, Air France, Easyjet and Ryanair.
Those flying back from Tunis will still need to book a separate internal flight from Djerba back to Tunis. These flightsAlexander House, 3 Shakespeare Road Finchley London N3 1XE can be booked online at: www.sevenair.com.tn
As of 8/8/2011 the November flights had not yet been published. I will provide details of this flight as soon as they are available.
