Terms and Conditions
Bookings and Cancellations:
A deposit is required to secure your reservation. The deposit will be specified in the published information for each trip. Late cancellations can cost us a lot of money, and therefore we will need to charge you to cover our potential loses. We highly recommend that you take out travel insurance to protect yourself from these charges.
A cancellation policy is published together with the information for each trip, giving the specific cancellation dates for that trip. If no cancellation is provided, the following schedule of charges will apply.
Unless stated otherwise in the trip details, if you cancel your booking for any reason, we will charge you as follows:
More than 6 months before the start of the trip - your money will be returned in full.
Between 180 and 120 days before the start of the trip - you will lose your deposit.
Between 120 and 60 days before the trip - we will charge you 50% of the total cost of the trip.
Less then 60 days before the trip - we will charge you 100% of the cost of the trip.
We recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy to cover you for potential charges in case of cancellation.
Alteration by you:
You may make alterations to your booking at any time before the commencement of the trip, subject to availability and payment of any surcharges imposed on us by our service providers. This includes your right to transfer your booking to another person if you wish, subject to any conditions and surcharges imposed on us by our service providers.
Alteration by us:
Any alteration we make to your programme may be either major or minor. A minor alteration is any alteration that is not defined as a major alteration below.
A major alteration is a change to a low class of accommodation or a significant change to your itinerary. Where we make a major alteration you will be offered the choice of accepting the alteration, transferring to a different tour or a full refund of your fees.
In the event of an alteration after the commencement of the tour you will have the choice of returning to your point of departure and receiving a pro rata refund for the unused part of the journey, or accepting the alternative being offered.
Cancellation by us:
If we cancel the tour, we will refund your payments and refund the costs of any flights you have booked and other reasonable expenses you have incurred in preparation for the trip.This does not include where the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond our control, as detailed below.
In the case where the minimum number of participants has not been met. Participants will be given the option of paying a surcharge or accepting a refund of costs as detailed above.
We do not accept liability, and will not refund your expenses, in the event that the cancellation of the trip is due to force majeure. Force majeure is when the trip is cancelled curtailed or altered due to causes beyond our control such as forces of nature, political upheaval, extreme weather, or terror threats.
Our Liability:
Travel and services are subject to the terms and conditions under which such accommodations, services and transportation are offered or provided to us. Jewish Journeys Ltd., its respective directors, officers and employees, agents, representatives and/or assigns, accepts no responsibility or liability.
Jewish Journeys Ltd is not liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delays or other irregularity which may be caused by the defect of any vehicle or negligence or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out or performing any of the services involved. Additionally, responsibility is not accepted for losses or expenses due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, natural disasters, or other such causes.
Jewish Journeys Ltd. reserves the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever, in its judgement conditions warrant, or if it is deemed changes are necessary for the comfort and convenience of tour passengers.
We reserve the right to withdraw without penalty any tour announced.
Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the owners. Dates, schedules, program details and costs have been given in good faith, based on information available as of itinerary publication.
Kosher Catering:
Meeting a local Jewish community is an integral part of many of our trips and therefore we try to arrange to join a local community for a Shabbat meal. These meals are catered in the community. Local communities are not licensed eating establishments. While care is taken that high standards of hygiene are maintained, customers are advised that we partake in these meals as guests of a local community – not customers at a licensed restaurant. Neither Jewish Journeys Ltd nor the local community accepts no liability for any mishap that may occur as the result of eating at a local community, and all participants do so at their own risk. Participants who do not wish to join in this part of the programme are welcome to eat in a local restaurant or hotel at their own expense.
Due to the difficultly in sourcing Kosher food in many of our destinations, Kosher food may be brought in from Israel or the UK. This catering is not licensed in the destination country and participants partake at their own risk. Those who do not wish to join these meals are welcome to eat in a local restaurant or hotel at their own expense.
On occasion a tour stops for a refreshment stop or for meals. Customers are free to eat at the restaurant of their choice. Jewish Journeys Ltd. does not recommend any restaurants, hotel or other establishment and accepts no liability for mishap that may occur as the result of eating at any establishment while on our tours.
Insurance:
All customers are required to carry their own travel insurance for the duration of the trip. It is the responsibility of the customer to ascertain that this insurance is suitable to their requirements. Jewish Journeys Ltd. takes no responsibly for events such as - but not limited to - theft, damage to property, personal injury, or cancellation caused by circumstances beyond our control. You are required to insure yourself against such events.
Flights:
International and domestic flights are not included in our itineraries. We can advise you about route and connections, and can suggest specific flights that fit in to our itineraries. All airline tickets need to be purchased independently, and should any problem arise, are the responsibility of the airline or travel agent who supplied them.
Passports and Visas:
You must have a current passport for international travel. It is your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements to comply with any regulations or visa requirements of your chosen country. If you do not have up-to-date and valid documentation, and are unable to travel, you will be liable to pay the cancellation charges set out above. Furthermore, we will not accept any responsibility or refund any money in cases where you are unable to travel because of invalid or mislaid documentation.
Payment and Cancellations:
Payment in full is required within 8 weeks of departure. If you cancel within 8 weeks of the commencement of a trip you forfeit your payment in full. You are advised to take out travel insurance to protect yourself against loses do to cancellation for unforeseen circumstances.
Refunds:
